The United States Census of 1840 was the sixth census of the United States. Pro-slavery advocates trumpeted the results as evidence of the beneficial effects of slavery, and the probable consequences of emancipation. Anti-slavery advocates contended, on the contrary, that the published returns were riddled with errors, as detailed in an 1844 report by Edward Jarvis of Massachusetts in the American Journal of the Medical Sciences, later published separately as a pamphlet, and in a memorial from the American Statistical Association to Congress, praying that measures be taken to correct the errors.

He was born 1961 in Sonthofen in the Oberallgäu region of the Bavarian Alps and studied with Klaus Schilde and Karl Hermann Mrongovius in Munich, then with Jacob Lateiner at the Juilliard School New York, where he received his master’s degree – and later with Peter Feuchtwanger in London.

For many years, Michael Endres was the pianist to the late baritone Hermann Prey.

As well as specializing in Mozart, Schubert, Schumann and Ravel, he has a wide repertoire including the somewhat neglected composers Carl Maria von Weber, Leopold Godowsky, Gabriel Fauré, Sir Arnold Bax and Eduard Tubin. His comprehensive recordings include the complete sonatas of Franz Schubert, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Carl Maria von Weber and Arnold Bax, the complete piano works of Maurice Ravel and George Gershwin as well as a complete recording of the 400 dances of Franz Schubert and 3 CDs of works by Robert Schumann. His playing is often described as subtle, elegant and refined regarding his recordings, where he does not take the dramatic elements of the music to the extreme. This is more than compensated for by the insights that he brings and the remarkable clarity of his readings and playing. On concert stage he often follows a riskier approach. The Boston Globe reviewer Richard Dyer described him as following during his Newport Festival debut:

W.A. Mozart: Complete Sonatas for piano

Franz Schubert: Complete Sonatas for piano

Complete dances

Wandererfantasy and other works

Carl Maria von Weber: Complete piano sonatas und other works

Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy: Lieder ohne Worte ( complete )

Alliant International University

Alliant International University is a private, benefit corporation higher education institution based in San Diego, California. The university is also known synonymously as Alliant. It offers programs in six California campuses—in San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Irvine, Sacramento, and Fresno—and three international campuses—in Mexico City, Mexico; Tokyo, Japan; and Hong Kong. Its enrollment is approximately 4,000 students, of whom 95% are post-graduate. There was another campus in Europe, but that was later sold. This campus was used as a site for many films, including Harry Potter.

Alliant was formed in 2001 by the combination of two older institutions: the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) and United States International University (USIU). Like the institutions that it descended from branded water bottles, Alliant has its home campus in San Diego, California.

USIU is the descendant of the original Balboa School of Law founded by Leland Ghent Stanford as a private graduate institution, in 1924. The name was changed to Balboa University, and then to California Western University, in 1952. Once again, in 1968, the school’s name was changed to United States International University. The law school, however, retained the name of California Western School of Law.

In the early 1980s, USIU held a broadcast license to operate KUSI, a startup UHF television station television in San Diego water proof phone. But for unknown reasons, USIU decided not to launch the channel. The license was transferred to Texas businessman Mike McKinnon and it began as a commercial station in 1982. KUSI still exists as an independent station. USIU developed a network of campuses throughout the world at locations such as Guam, England, Nairobi, Kenya, and Mexico City. The Mexico City campus remains part of the Alliant International University system; however, shortly after the merger with CSPP, the Kenya campus became its own independent entity known as United States International University Africa.

In February 2015, Alliant became a for-profit benefit corporation and part of the Arist Education System, a subsidiary of Bertelsmann.

Alliant International University is composed of several academic schools:

In 2011, Alliant International University renamed their management school to Alliant School of Management. Formerly the Marshall Goldsmith School of Management, named for one of the world’s leading organizational consultants and executive coaches (Marshall Goldsmith), the School of Management now offers a four-year BSBA program waterproof case for 5s, Masters and Doctoral degrees in Business, Management, and Leadership.

The California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) was founded in 1969 under the auspices of the California Psychological Association. CSPP was the first free-standing school of professional psychology in the nation where can i find glass bottles, and remains the largest non-profit professional psychology school in the nation. CSPP offers programs in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Counseling, and Marital and Family Therapy.

The Hufstedler School of Education, named for the first U.S. Secretary of Education, offers programs in teaching, school psychology, educational leadership, and teaching English to speakers of other languages.

The California School of Forensic Studies offers programs in criminology and criminal justice.

San Francisco Law School became a constituent school of Alliant International University in 2010.

Alliant, including all of its programs, is accredited by the WASC Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities. The university’s education programs are accredited by the California State Board of Education. Credential programs offered by the Alliant School of Education are approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.[citation needed] Clinical psychology programs are accredited by the American Psychological Association[citation needed]. Alliant’s Marital and Family Therapy programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education.

Alliant has been recognized for its service to military students. It is included in GI Jobs Magazine’s 2013 list of “Military-Friendly Schools”, the third year in a row the university has been included in this listing. It was also included on the Military Times EDGE (MTE) magazine Best for Vets: Colleges 2011 list in 2010 and 2011; in 2011, Alliant was ranked #10 on the list, making it the highest-ranked non-traditional university in California.

Alliant International University phased out its intercollegiate athletics programs in 2007. As U.S. International University, the school’s softball team appeared in one Women’s College World Series in 1982. The Gulls defeated Ohio State, 1-0, in the team’s first game. Freshman pitcher Jenny Stallard then hurled an 8-inning perfect game to stun top-seeded and eventual tournament champion, Texas A&M, 1-0 in the team’s second game. However, losses to Michigan and Central Michigan ended the Gulls’ season.
